Rick Bowles, Principal
Reden & Anders, and Ingenix Company
Mr. Bowles has over 25 years of extensive experience in executive and operational roles in government programs, insurance, and the managed care industry. He has served in capacities including VP Business Development, Medicare Product Director, as a consultant, and with the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Finance as a Medicaid Managed Care specialist and regulator. His past responsibilities include health plan operations, process improvement, benefits design, and business reengineering. He has successfully directed operations in public health, managed care (government programs and commercial), financial recovery, pharmacy management, compliance, and consulting environments. His specific areas of expertise include:
- Strategic planning and operations management.
- Successfully managed P&L and consulting engagements in health plans, product design/marketing, and government programs.
- Extensive training and experience in Process Improvement and its application to real world business challenges.
- Developed several innovative business strategies including the first totally integrated Medicare/Medicaid health plan for United HealthCare of Colorado and the first Dual Eligible SNP plan under MMA.
- Understanding and management of Special Needs Plans, including their implementation, marketing, management, risk score improvement, and health benefits design.
Before joining Reden & Anders, Mr. Bowles directed the development of special needs plans at two national companies. Over his career Mr. Bowles has also held positions with organizations such as United HealthCare, Gorman Health Group, The State of Colorado, and Ernst & Young. He holds a Master’s in Management with emphasis in HealthCare Administration.
