 Tom Tran, Pharm. D.
Divisional V.P. of Pharmacy Programs, BCBS of Texas
Tom Tran joined Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX) in 2004 as
the Director of Clinical Pharmacy Programs. In his current role, Dr.
Tran is the Divisional Vice-President of Pharmacy Programs. His
responsibilities include overseeing BCBSTX's clinical pharmacy programs
as well as the Pharmacy Operations for all of Health Care Services
Corporation (HCSC) which is made up of BCBSTX, BCBSIL, BCBSNM, and
BCBSOK. Dr. Tran consults with employer groups on pharmacy benefit
designs that provide the lowest net cost. Dr. Tran also partners with
physicians to encourage medication compliance and generic prescribing.
Dr. Tran received a Bachelor's degree in biology from Baylor University
in Waco, Texas, and a Doctorate degree in pharmacy from the University
Of Houston College Of Pharmacy.
