Texas Health Plan Association Applauds TDI for Ensuring Patients are Protected from Surprise Billing

AUSTINTexas Association of Health Plans CEO Jamie Dudensing released the following statement today applauding Insurance Commissioner Kent Sullivan and other state leaders upon the Texas Department of Insurance’s adoption of the new surprise billing rule.

“Our organization is grateful for TDI’s efforts to correctly implement the consumer protections in Senate Bill 1264 and ensure Texas patients no longer have to worry about surprise billing. Thanks to the leadership of Gov. Greg Abbott, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, Commissioner Kent Sullivan, Sen. Kelly Hancock, Rep. Tom Oliverson, and others, Texas can be proud of its surprise billing law."
